This collection of frequently asked questions provides brief answers to many common questions about Easyline Edge® applicators, the paints and use of these products.
Q. The motor is on but when I pull the trigger nothing sprays out. Why might it not work?
- Have you used Easyline Edge® aerosol paint? The Easyline Edge® applicator is only compatible with Easyline Edge® paint.
- Did you shake the can for at least 60 seconds?
- Have you used the correct yellow nozzle?
- The yellow nozzle may be blocked, we recommend you use a new, clean nozzle
- Check that the aerosol can and nozzle are sitting correctly in the holder and has locked into place
Q: My applicator is covered in paint, can I get spare parts?
- Overspray paint can be removed after use by cleaning with ROCOL® Anti-Graffiti™ Wipes
- Dried paint can be removed from the masking plates by scraping (the substrate is designed for easy removal)
- Replacement masking plates are available from your ROCOL® supplier
Q: The old applicator was made of steel, the new one is plastic – is it strong enough?
- The design process considered the most suitable materials from which to manufacture and we selected glass filled nylon for the majority of the parts with aluminium strengthening to the main handle and a stainless steel actuator strap
- The plastics used are tried and tested from the power tool industry and are commonly found in garden tools such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers and hedge trimmers
- Feedback from our market research showed the existing applicator was susceptible to damage when tampered by the end user, so our new design is more compact and supplied in a heavy duty case
Q: Can I use the machine without the battery?
- Operation without the airflow system is not recommended. The airflow prevents excessive build up of paint on the masking plates and generates the air curtain which creates the crisp line edge
Q: The applicator looks more complicated than before...
- The new Easyline® Edge Applicator has many improvements over its predecessor
- Operation of the new applicator is simply explained and aided by on-machine instructions
- Just like the old system, a mere 5 minutes practice is required to be able to produce high quality lines
Q: But my lines get dirty...
- In high traffic environments any painted line is subject to becoming obscured through contamination
- The durability of Easyline® Edge paint means it can be cleaned many times
Q: But my lines never last...
- Did you prepare by degreasing/cleaning?
- Easyline® Edge paint lasts 2 times longer than the nearest competition
- Aerosol line marking with the Easyline® Edge system makes it quick & easy to re-apply hand painted quality lines
Q: The system is too expensive...
Compared to traditional hand painted lines...
- The initial cost of the applicator is an investment as it can be used many times
- The new Easyline® Edge system creates quality lines without the need to apply masking tape and the paint applicator is faster than by hand
- Easyline® Edge paint is traffic grade epoxy and will last longer than competitive systems
- The quality of line is superior to any other aerosol line marking system
- We use the most durable paint and our new system minimises wastage which means that more paint is applied per linear metre providing a thicker coating
